*SENIOR ACCOUNT CLERK: *The Chenango County Department of Social Services & Treasurer's Department have immediate openings for Senior Account Clerk.
Treasurer's Department position starts no sooner than 2024.
Duties involve moderately difficult clerical work involving responsibility for independently performing and/or supervising varied financial account and recordkeeping tasks.
An employee in this class must make decisions as to the classification and distribution of receipts and expenditures, and use independent judgment in the application of prescribed policies and procedures.
The incumbent may enter and retrieve information manually or by using computer database and/or spreadsheet software.
This position differs from an Account Clerk in that duties are more complex, level of responsibility is higher and a broader knowledge of program procedures and operations is required.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level employee with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the duties of the position.
Supervision may be exercised over subordinate account-keeping and clerical personnel.
Does related work as required.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* Either:
(A) Possession of an Associate’s Degree or higher in accounting, business administration, or a closely related field; OR
(B) Completion of 60 credit hours which must have included at least 12 credit hours in accounting or bookkeeping; OR
(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of full-time paid experience or its’ part-time equivalent in the compilation and maintenance of financial accounts and records; OR
(D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of
(A), (B), and (C) above.
Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.
S.
Department of Education/U.
S.
Secretary of Education.
If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.

64 per hour, and in 2024 starts at $20.
