Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer or Chief Accounting Officer, the Corporate Controller oversees the accounting and financial functions of the organization.
Responsibilities include the oversight of the internal and external financial reporting of the Company, developing and implementing financial policies and internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with and have the ability to interpret and implement new generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory financial reporting requirements, oversight of the budget and planning function, effectively managing the accounting/finance personnel and contribute comprehensive financial analysis to support the strategies of the Company.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
10 plus years experience in related position
SEC Reporting, Financial Institution and Public Accounting experience preferred
CPA required (MBA a plus)
Skills and Abilities:
Extensive experience with a public company reporting to the SEC.
Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley, consolidations, budgeting and forecasting and corporate tax accounting.
Banking experience preferred.
Ability to articulate complex financial issues to all levels of management advisors outside the organization.
Ability to solve complex problems, successfully manage multiple priorities and strong decision-making skills.
Demonstrated project leadership skills, including previous supervisory experience.
Advanced computer literacy with financial software with strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Financial analysis, M&A modeling, Product Profitability, Purchase Accounting
Ability to read and interpret technical research and report/apply information to specific business situations.

Tasks Performed:
30% Manages all aspects of accounting operations including timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and balancing processes.
This includes generating financial statements, a financial reporting package and detailed income statement variance analyses.
20% Oversee the external financial reporting process including SEC and regulatory (FDIC/OCC/FRB) filings.
15% Ensures adherence to all corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
Develop appropriate policies, procedures and disclosures for new accounting requirements.
Ability to interpret technical accounting guidance and translate into accounting policy and procedures.
10% Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, the balance sheet reconciliation process, and corporate tax planning and reporting.
10% Oversight of the Company’s annual budget process including planning and forecasting analysis needed to support revenue and expense projections.
5% Support financial analysis for strategic initiatives including merger and acquisition due diligence.
5% Motivate and lead a high performing team: Attract, retain and develop staff and serve as a mentor.
5% Other duties as assigned.
