Under the general direction of the Audit Manager, the Senior Auditor I is responsible for the supervision and timely completion of audits, including the planning, fieldwork and completion stages of the audit.
A Senior Auditor I is also responsible for the coaching and development of the auditors under his/her supervision.
Audits are expected to be completed in accordance with the department's audit methodology and workpaper standards.
The Senior Auditor I will primarily lead low/moderate complexity audits.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or related field or equivalent education and experience preferred
Three years of previous financial services experience preferred
Three years of internal audit, public accounting audit, or equivalent experience required
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Experience in identifying risks and evaluating the design and effectiveness of systems of internal control and/or regulatory compliance
Coaching and developing required skills of others
Proficient at communicating ideas, concepts, and messages in a clear and concise manner with Audit and Department Management
Ability to negotiate desired results and recommendations.

Leading an audit
Strong analytical and organizational skills

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:
Professional certification (CIA, CPA, CISA) preferred
Tasks Performed:
35% Supervision of low/moderate complexity audits in accordance with the department's audit methodology and workpaper standards.
This includes the preparation, evaluation and review of the design and effectiveness of internal controls, determination and execution of applicable testwork and the assessment of applicable audit findings.
The Senior Auditor should also perform tests on certain of the more complex areas of an audit.
Results of audits should be communicated in a clear and concise manner.
20% Planning of audits including facilitating planning/opening meetings, determination of applicable scope areas and assignment of related risks.
20% Supervision, coaching and development of assigned auditors to facilitate their learning and development in bank auditing and their understanding of the department's audit methodology and workpaper standards.
This also includes regular feedback to the Audit Manager regarding auditor performance.
10% Completion of assigned audits, including preparation and development of draft reports and facilitating exit/closing meetings.
10% Manage the timely completion of multiple audits and/or projects to help ensure they are completed by established due dates.
This includes keeping the Audit Manager apprised of the status of audits and projects.
5% Perform other duties as assigned, including the completion of special projects.
