The Office of Alumni Engagement is at the forefront of fostering meaningful connections with our vast network of over 75,000 alumni.

The Associate Director plays a crucial role in advancing the University's mission by spearheading initiatives to strengthen and expand our alumni network.
Working closely with the Director of Alumni Engagement, this position involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance alumni involvement across various departments.

Duties include but are not limited to: Manage Alumni Recognition Programs: Oversee the SUNY Oneonta Alumni of Distinction program and the Alumni Association Annual Awards program, ensuring the recognition and celebration of outstanding alumni achievements.
Build and Manage an Alumni Volunteer Network: Identify, recruit, cultivate, and train a nationwide network of alumni volunteers to actively contribute to the university's growth and development.
Expand Alumni/Student Career Initiatives: Lead efforts to expand alumni career initiatives, including Backpacks to Briefcases, Red Dragon Networking events, Life After Graduation events, and the Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series.
Advise Oneonta Future Alumni Network (OFAN): Provide guidance and support to the Oneonta Future Alumni Network, fostering engagement and connectivity among current students and future alumni.
Collaborate on Special Projects: Work collaboratively with the Alumni Association Board of Directors on special projects to enhance the overall alumni experience and contribute to the university's strategic goals.
Supervise Coordinator of Recent Alumni and Student Programs: Provide leadership and guidance to the Coordinator of Recent Alumni and Student Programs, ensuring the successful execution of relevant initiatives.
Salary: $61,000-$64,000 commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the proven ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse university community.
Additional: Experience in event planning or coordination, including creating comprehensive event timelines from conception to completion.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience managing volunteers or constituents.
Preferred: Master's degree.
Experience working in higher education.
Demonstrated creativity in developing strategies for alumni or constituent engagement opportunities.
