The Division of Student Affairs aims to help students navigate their time at SUNY Oneonta, providing the tools they need to be successful in school and after graduation.
The Division of Student Affairs at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for an exciting new position, Associate Director of the Office of Student Care.
This position will interact with multiple departments and responsibilities will include facilitating the students of concern applications; outreach and consultation services in Residence Life and Campus Community; and the development and implementation of campus and community resources needed by the student.
We are seeking candidates with strong leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, Dean of Students, in the Division of Student Affairs.
The Associate Director will provide and coordinate training and development across campus to support student success.

edu/division-student-affairs Duties include but are not limited to: Provide vision, leadership, and management of the following areas: CARE, Basic Needs (Emergency Funding Program; Food Insecurity Initiatives, Food Pantry, SNAP, and Housing Insecurity), Health Promotions, Wellness, and Outreach.
Planning, development, and oversight of programming in the following areas: SPARC/Party Science online training for all incoming students; Fall RA training; New Student Freshman Orientation- Consent; Transfer Orientation- consent; Fall athletes' presentation; Fall T-shirt campaign; Spring RA training; Greek Life; SUNY's Got Your Back; Yards for Yeardly; Know violence social media campaign; 7 Sex and Pizza Series (with GSRC); and Art of Relaxation (with GSRC) Engaging with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to health promotion, harm reduction, and student well-being.
Manage Department budget.
Develop policies and procedures for the Office of Student Care and Wellness.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Respond to and make appropriate referrals that connect students with support resources on and off-campus.
Residence Life outreach or prevention presentations in the residence halls (i.
e.
stress management, assertiveness skills, etc.
).
Organize and execute campus-wide educational programs and outreach activities, including tabling at events, integrating information into student orientations, presenting to clubs, and raising college awareness about student basic needs.
Simultaneously, implement and evaluate evidence-based health promotion strategies, policies, and programs covering substance abuse, sexual health, violence prevention, mental health and general wellness education.
Engage in comprehensive assessment, evaluation, and program improvement by regularly tracking, communicating, and reporting relevant data.
Respond to students who make requests for emergency funding and determine the appropriate stipend to be awarded to the student in need.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders as appropriate, including members of the campus community, parents/family/emergency contacts, and other external partners.
Salary: $70,000.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in public health, health promotion, health education, social work, counseling, or related field Three years of experience in health promotion or related field Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational, presentation and time-management skills Strong supervisory and human relations skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and diverse environment, especially with a highly creative student population.
Preferred: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or Certified in Public Health (CPH) or CHES/CPH Eligible.
Assessment and evaluation experience Developing and facilitating outreach programs experience.
Experience in program development and administration.
Experience with problem resolution.
